The necklace is inspired by American civil rights activist Rosa Parks.
In 1955, the incident that would make it world famous took place; rarely has such a small act had such important consequences, in this case, in the field of the struggle for equal rights in North America. Rosa Parks, a humble colored seamstress, refused to give up her seat on the bus to a white traveler. The driver called the police and the woman was stopped and forced to pay a fine of fourteen dollars. The fact once again highlighted the segregation conditions to which people of colour were subjected, who were forbidden access to swimming pools, schools, restaurants and a large number of public services exclusively for whites...no comment
